How many B2B catalogs can you have without Shopify Plus?
Without Shopify Plus, you can assign up to 3 active catalogs across all your B2B markets on the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans. The limit is store-wide: 3 catalogs on one market uses all of it. Shopify Plus adds unlimited B2B market catalogs and direct catalog assignment to companies and company locations.

Talk to our expertsWhat the 3-catalog limit means
A B2B catalog decides which products your B2B customers can access and what they pay. Inside a catalog you can set an overall percentage adjustment, then fixed prices and volume pricing for specific products or variants. Fixed prices override the overall adjustment.
The cap counts active catalogs across every B2B market in the store, not per market. Shopify gives the example directly: assigning 3 catalogs to one B2B market uses the full limit, and you need to remove or draft an existing assignment before you can add catalogs to another market.
A few rules shape how you use those three:
- Assignment: on Basic, Grow and Advanced you assign catalogs to B2B markets, and your store must be using new Shopify Markets.
- Overlap: if several catalogs price the same product for a buyer, the lowest price displays.
- Quantity tools: quantity rules and quantity price breaks are available on Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus.
Shopify opened these features to non-Plus plans on April 2, 2026, at no additional cost. For the wider picture of what each plan includes, see is Shopify good for B2B.
What Shopify Plus adds
Compared with Basic, Grow and Advanced, Shopify Plus changes two things about catalogs. First, you can create an unlimited number of B2B market catalogs. Second, you can assign catalogs directly to specific companies and company locations for customer-level pricing, which is not available on the other plans.
Plus also keeps a short list of payment features to itself: deposit requirements, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment.
There is also a ceiling per buyer. Each company location can have a maximum of 25 catalogs assigned to it, and that count includes catalogs assigned through a market and catalogs assigned directly to the location. So a pricing model that stacks dozens of catalogs on one account needs a different design. Our guide to Shopify B2B catalogs and price lists at scale covers how to structure that.
If you are weighing the upgrade, the full decision lives in Shopify B2B vs Shopify Plus.
When three catalogs are enough (Uncap's view)
In our builds, three catalogs cover a standard manufacturer pricing structure: distributor, dealer and direct tiers. That is a common shape for tiered pricing, and it fits inside the limit without workarounds. Each tier gets its own catalog with its own percentage adjustment, and fixed contract prices sit on top for the products that need them.
The limit starts to bite when your wholesale program has more than three distinct pricing tiers, for example national accounts, regional distributors, independent dealers and key accounts with individually negotiated rates. Then you either collapse tiers to fit three catalogs, which means some buyers do not see their contracted prices, or you move to Plus.

Frequently asked questions
Is the 3-catalog limit per B2B market or for the whole store?
It is for the whole store. On Basic, Grow and Advanced you can assign up to 3 active catalogs across all your B2B markets, so putting all 3 on one market uses the full limit.
Can I assign a catalog directly to one company without Shopify Plus?
No. Direct catalog assignment to companies and company locations is available only on Shopify Plus. On Basic, Grow and Advanced, catalogs reach buyers through B2B markets.
What price does a buyer see if two catalogs include the same product?
The lowest one. Shopify says that when multiple catalogs and prices apply to a product, the lowest price displays to the customer.
How many catalogs can one company location have?
Up to 25. That maximum counts catalogs assigned through a market and catalogs assigned directly to the location.
When did B2B catalogs become available below Shopify Plus?
On April 2, 2026. Shopify added up to 3 active B2B catalogs, assigned through Markets, to the Basic, Grow and Advanced plans at no additional cost.
