Question 1

What is the Uncap blog?

Accepted Answer

The Uncap blog is called Field Notes. It publishes insights, guides, and trends on building commerce on Shopify, written for operators in wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing. The notes are field-tested lessons from live Shopify builds rather than general marketing content, spanning B2B commerce, migrations, ERP integration, Shopify Plus, growth, and AI.

Question 2

What topics does Field Notes cover?

Accepted Answer

Field Notes is organized into eight topics: Wholesale, Manufacturing, Distribution, B2B Commerce, ERP and Integrations, Shopify Plus, Growth and Strategy, and AI and Automation. You can filter the blog by any of these to find what fits your operation. Articles range from step-by-step playbooks to platform breakdowns and trend pieces on what is actually moving in commerce and AI.

Question 3

What kind of articles will I find on Field Notes?

Accepted Answer

Field Notes publishes three kinds of pieces: insights, field-tested lessons from live Shopify builds; guides, step-by-step playbooks for B2B, migrations, and performance; and trends, plain reads on what is moving in commerce and AI without the hype. Recent notes include Shopify's Summer 2026 Editions for B2B, connecting SAP and Sage to Shopify, and how electrical and building-materials distributors build B2B portals.

Question 4

How do I get new posts from Field Notes?

Accepted Answer

Field Notes has a monthly newsletter that lands on the last working day of each month with the notes worth keeping. It goes to more than 2,400 operators, with no spam and an unsubscribe link in every send. Subscribe with a work email from the Field Notes page, and you can also browse the full archive of published notes anytime.

Question 5

Is Field Notes worth reading for B2B operators?

Accepted Answer

Field Notes is written specifically for operators running commerce in wholesale, distribution, and manufacturing, so the depth matches what they deal with day to day. The articles assume a reader who knows their operation and wants practical detail on real problems, from fitment and pricing to ERP integration and migrations. Every note comes from the team doing the work, which is what keeps the guidance field-tested rather than theoretical.
