Syspro Shopify Integration for Manufacturers and Distributors

A Syspro Shopify integration connects Syspro, an ERP purpose-built for manufacturing and distribution, to your Shopify store. Shopify orders land in Syspro as sales orders, and stock, pricing, customer accounts and dispatch updates flow back to Shopify. The integration uses two interfaces Syspro documents: e.net Solutions business objects for transactions, and Syspro OData for read-only data.

This page explains how that connection works, using Syspro's and Shopify's own documentation: which Syspro interface does what, how on-premise and Syspro Cloud ERP differ, what moves in each direction, and what Uncap would build on top for B2B ecommerce. Uncap connects Shopify to ERPs through Uncap Connect or a managed iPaaS integration, and for Syspro the route is scoped in an Uncap Blueprint before anything is built.

What Syspro is

In its own words, Syspro is the industrial AI company for manufacturing and distribution, helping mid-sized companies run and grow with confidence. Its ERP is purpose-built for those two industries, and Syspro says it has been a trusted ERP software company for almost 50 years.

Syspro is changing how it licenses its software. It says it is discontinuing the Initial License Fee and Annual License Fee model, and that going forward its software will only be available under a named-user, subscription-based platform model.

On Syspro Cloud ERP, the software comes in bundles. Foundation and Financials are mandatory. Manufacturing and Distribution are optional, and you choose one or both. The Foundation bundle includes a module Syspro lists as Connected Services Manager (e.Net), and the Distribution bundle covers inventory management, sales orders, purchase orders, sales analysis and counter sales. Syspro describes that bundle as managing all elements of the sales cycle, procurement and supplier transactions.

For a Shopify project, the bundles you run tell you where your data lives. A distributor on the Distribution bundle keeps its sales orders and inventory in Syspro. The Manufacturing bundle adds bills of material, work in progress, a product configurator and quotations. Either way, the storefront has to work with Syspro's records, not around them.

Syspro also runs on more than one deployment model, from your own servers to its cloud. That choice changes how an integration reaches Syspro, and it gets its own section below.

The rules that stay in Syspro

Pricing, credit, availability and traceability in Syspro

Syspro's sales order management already runs these rules. The integration carries their results to Shopify instead of rebuilding them.

Pricing

Multi-level pricing

Contracts, buying groups and promotions, with multiple units of measure. Syspro applies agreed pricing and offers during order processing.

  • Contract pricing
  • Buying groups
  • Promotions
Credit

Credit policies

Configurable credit policies evaluate credit limits, payment history and outstanding balances.

  • Credit limits
  • Payment history
  • Outstanding balances
Availability

Available-to-promise

Live inventory integration gives accurate available-to-promise dates.

  • Live inventory

Traceability

Lot and serial tracking

Lot and serial tracking from raw materials through final delivery, supporting regulatory compliance, recalls and customer service.

  • Raw materials to final delivery
  • Recalls
  • Regulatory compliance

The part that matters most for a Shopify project is the business logic Syspro already runs. Syspro's sales order management configures multi-level pricing, applies credit policies, gives available-to-promise dates from live inventory, and keeps lot and serial tracking from raw materials through final delivery.

An integration should carry the results of those rules to Shopify, not rebuild them there. Syspro stays the system of record for price, credit, stock and orders. Shopify becomes the storefront that shows buyers what Syspro has already decided.

That split has practical consequences. When Syspro applies agreed pricing and offers during order processing, the Shopify price list should match what Syspro will charge, so the order total does not change after checkout. When Syspro's credit policies evaluate credit limits, payment history and outstanding balances, the decision on an account belongs to Syspro. When a regulated product needs lot numbers for recalls, the lot and serial record stays in Syspro, where Syspro maintains it for regulatory compliance, recalls and customer service.

Decide the system of record for every field before the build: for example, price, stock and customer terms in Syspro, and product content and merchandising in Shopify. Writing that down early keeps the two systems from disagreeing later.

How Syspro connects to Shopify: e.net business objects and OData

How a Syspro Shopify integration is wired

Shopify B2B records on one side, Syspro's documented interfaces on the other, and an integration layer in between.

Syspro documents two interfaces that matter for a Shopify integration. Syspro e.net Solutions handles transactions, such as posting a sales order, through Syspro business objects. Syspro OData gives read-only access to Syspro data.

e.net Solutions is Syspro's open interface. Syspro says it provides a standard interface for integrating with Syspro, so custom business applications can be built on Syspro's existing business logic and security. Its business objects are specialized modules with predefined functions that automate processing without user input. For a Shopify order, that means it goes into Syspro through Syspro's existing business logic, validation and data structures, and one set of security settings covers both the business objects and core Syspro.

Syspro's WCF Services give external applications access to business objects, and Syspro describes them as the communication layer for e.net Solutions through the Communications Load Balancer. Syspro's WCF client library for .NET Framework 4.0 supports HTTP REST and SOAP endpoints. Syspro also says the e.net Load Balancer in Syspro 8 ensures reliable communication, data integrity and fault tolerance between Syspro and other applications.

Syspro OData, licensing and upgrades

The read side, the licenses and the upgrade path decide how the integration runs day to day.

Access to e.net is licensed. Syspro lets you configure e.net licenses and allocate them to the functional areas that operators need when they access business objects, so the integration's license needs belong in the scope.

Syspro OData is the read side. Syspro calls it a RESTful API to the Syspro database, based on OData 4.0, that lets applications query Syspro data in a standard and controlled manner without direct SQL access. It uses Basic Authentication with SQL user credentials, and Syspro strongly recommends exposing it over HTTPS. It needs the e.net System Manager and Data Connector - OData modules under your license, and a Syspro site can request an OData site license.

Syspro says e.net keeps version-independent functionality across all versions, and that custom programs don't require rewrites when upgrading Syspro versions. That matters for an integration you expect to run for years.

On-premise or Syspro Cloud ERP: the decision that shapes the build

Where Syspro runs decides how Shopify data reaches it. Syspro offers three deployment models: on-premise, a managed service provider, and cloud or SaaS.

On-premise, your company buys and maintains the hardware, licenses the software, and needs the IT skills to install, configure and maintain the systems. With a managed service provider, the provider buys and maintains the hardware and supplies the skills. In the cloud, the cloud provider is responsible for the hardware and the software is licensed monthly.

Syspro Cloud ERP runs on the Microsoft Azure hosting platform. Syspro says its cloud takes care of the applications, infrastructure, servers, storage, databases, operating system and networking, while you keep control of the data.

The rule that changes the build is about data access. The Syspro Cloud ERP platform doesn't allow direct database access by any application or personnel, and Syspro says OData is the only mechanism available when applications need Syspro data in that environment. So on Syspro Cloud ERP, plan the integration's reads, such as stock, prices or customer records, around OData rather than database queries. Syspro notes that the only difference between on-premise and Syspro Cloud ERP sites connecting to OData is the base URL for the OData website.

On-premise, your team hosts Syspro, so the Syspro services the integration calls must be reachable over a secure route your IT team approves. Syspro's advice to expose OData over HTTPS applies here too.

Either way, the deployment model, the Syspro version and the modules you license are confirmed in scoping, before any field is mapped.

What moves between Syspro and Shopify, and in which direction

Shopify describes ERP integration for B2B as syncing customer data, orders, inventory, product catalogs and pricing information. With Syspro, each has a clear direction:

  • Orders, Shopify to Syspro. Orders from B2B buyers, and from DTC customers if the store sells direct too, post into Syspro as sales orders through e.net business objects, with the buyer's purchase order number carried across.
  • Stock, Syspro to Shopify. Available quantities from each Syspro warehouse update the matching Shopify location, so buyers don't order stock you no longer have.
  • Pricing, Syspro to Shopify. The prices Syspro calculates, including contract pricing, become Shopify B2B catalogs and price lists, within the catalog limits of your Shopify plan.
  • Customers, Syspro to Shopify. Syspro customer accounts become Shopify companies, with company locations and payment terms set up to match.
  • Dispatch and tracking, Syspro to Shopify. Syspro generates dispatch notes from sales orders. When the order ships, the fulfillment and tracking number reach Shopify so the buyer sees them.

Credit checks, lot and serial records and available-to-promise dates stay with Syspro's own rules. The integration shows their results and does not copy their logic.

Two mapping choices deserve time in scoping. First, warehouses: decide which Syspro warehouses feed which Shopify locations, and whether any stock is held back from the storefront. Second, accounts: decide whether every Syspro customer becomes a Shopify company, or only the accounts you invite to order online.

Shopify B2B on Syspro data: plans, catalogs and checkout

You do not need Shopify Plus to run B2B on Syspro data. You can use Shopify B2B on the Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Shopify Plus plans. Shopify B2B isn't available on the Starter or Retail plans.

The catalog count is where plans differ. On the Basic, Grow, and Advanced plans, you can assign up to 3 active catalogs across all your B2B markets. On the Shopify Plus plan, you can create an unlimited number of B2B market catalogs, and you can also assign catalogs directly to specific companies and company locations for customer-level pricing. If many Syspro accounts carry their own contract prices, check this early, because direct catalog assignment isn't available on Basic, Grow or Advanced.

Deposit requirements, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment are available only on Shopify Plus. Most B2B features are on every plan that supports B2B, including companies, catalogs, net payment terms, self-serve ordering and Shopify Flow automations. Quantity rules, quantity price breaks, PO numbers and quick order lists are listed for Basic, Grow, Advanced and Plus. Payment terms can be Net 7, Net 15, Net 30, Net 45, Net 60, Net 90, or due on fulfillment.

Two checkout limits to plan around. Shopify lists accelerated checkouts, including Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Amazon Pay, as incompatible with B2B. It also lists a maximum of 500 line items per order, which matters for buyers who order large replenishment lists.

Shopify also warns that some App Store integrations aren't fully compatible with Shopify B2B companies and catalogs, so B2B company, pricing and customer data might not map correctly. Our guide to where official Shopify ERP connectors stop for B2B covers that warning in detail. When an external system doesn't have a direct or iPaaS integration, or has needs those don't cover, Shopify points to custom integrations built on its B2B APIs.

Syspro's Supply Chain Portal or a Shopify storefront

Syspro has its own customer-facing option. The Syspro Supply Chain Portal is an interactive web platform for manufacturers and distributors. Syspro says customers can create, track and manage their own sales orders through it, including payment processing, and access credit status, account information, transaction details, invoices and statements.

If your buyers mostly reorder known items and check their accounts, that portal may cover what they need. A Shopify storefront is the choice when you want more than order entry: a catalog buyers can browse and search, product content and merchandising, self-serve ordering with quantity rules and price breaks, and the same store for buyers you have not met yet.

The two can sit side by side. One option is to keep account self-service where it already works and put new buyers, catalog browsing and repeat ordering on Shopify. The right split depends on how your buyers order today, which is why it belongs in Blueprint, with your sales team's view on the table.

Whichever way you go, Syspro stays the system of record. The portal is part of Syspro. A Shopify storefront reaches Syspro through the integration described on this page, which is why the interface and deployment questions above come first.

Real time, schedules and failures

Not everything needs to move the instant it changes. Orders should reach Syspro as soon as they are placed, stock should follow closely, and large catalog or price updates can run as scheduled, queued jobs.

In Uncap Connect, most events propagate in a few seconds, bulk operations are queued and throttled so they never overwhelm an endpoint, and failed events are isolated, surfaced in the console and replayable, so nothing is silently dropped.

On the Syspro side, two details shape the schedule. Syspro says OData currently has no rate limitations, such as rows per minute or per second. Its OData FAQ also describes ways to overcome the 5000 row limit, so plan large reads, such as a full price refresh, with that in mind.

Upgrades are the other moment to plan for. Even with e.net's version-independent design, test the integration against each Syspro upgrade before it reaches production, and keep a short checklist of the orders, prices and stock levels to compare after every change on either side.

How Uncap would build a Syspro integration: Uncap Connect or managed iPaaS

Uncap offers two ways to build a Syspro integration, and both keep Syspro as the system of record. Which one fits your setup is settled in scoping.

Uncap Connect is a Shopify-to-ERP integration app, built as a Shopify embedded app, that keeps your store and your ERP in real-time, two-way sync. It has native support for Shopify B2B companies, locations, catalogs, price lists, and payment terms. For a specific ERP and the depth of sync your operation needs, the Uncap team confirms fit directly, so for Syspro that check comes before any commitment. See Uncap Connect for how the app works.

Managed iPaaS is for teams already committed to a platform, or whose environment calls for connector-based middleware instead of an embedded app. We build it, configure it, and support it, so you get the same reliability and the same point of accountability. Our iPaaS definition explains the model.

B2B primitives are native in Uncap Connect and mapped in for iPaaS builds, not worked around. One team builds and supports the integration, so you are not bounced between a middleware vendor and an agency. Uncap Connect starts at $8,000 to set up and then a flat $390 per month. A managed iPaaS integration starts at $14,000 with a $500 to $2,000 monthly platform cost. We scope the exact figure to your systems up front. Both models are compared on our Shopify ERP integrations page.

First, Uncap Blueprint, a $7,500 fixed-price plan delivered in four weeks and credited toward implementation, settles the architecture: the deployment model, which reads go through OData, which transactions go through business objects, the e.net licenses needed and the Shopify plan that fits your pricing. Then the build follows the phased plan the Blueprint sets out. If the integration is part of a larger Shopify build, Uncap Commerce covers the full implementation.

Industries that run Syspro

Syspro's industry list includes automotive, chemical, electronics, metal fabrication, food and beverage, furniture, industrial machinery, medical, packaging, and plastic and rubber, with distribution alongside. It says it is purpose-built to match the realities of manufacturing and distribution.

Those realities show up in the integration. Syspro supports long-term sales agreements, with blanket sales orders that carry multiple release dates and call-offs. Its advanced supply chain tools for distribution track and trace batches and serials, manage incentive programs and track actual landed freight costs. Those records stay in Syspro. The Shopify side shows buyers the result, such as the contract price and what is available to order.

If your Syspro setup uses blanket orders, batch and serial tracking or landed costs, bring an example to scoping, because each one changes what the storefront should show and when.

Ready to talk

Bring four things to the first conversation: your Syspro version and deployment model (on-premise, managed service provider or Syspro Cloud ERP), the e.net and OData modules you license today, how many warehouses feed the store, and one account's contract price list. With those, we can tell you which route fits and what the Blueprint needs to settle. If Syspro's own Supply Chain Portal already serves some of your buyers, bring that too, so the Shopify side builds on what already works. And if a smaller scope fits better than a full build, we will say so.

13 Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a Syspro system?

Syspro is an ERP system purpose-built for manufacturing and distribution. Syspro describes itself as the industrial AI company for manufacturing and distribution, helping mid-sized companies run and grow with confidence, and says it has been a trusted ERP software company for almost 50 years. On Syspro Cloud ERP, the Foundation and Financials bundles are mandatory, and the Manufacturing and Distribution bundles are optional.

What is a Syspro Shopify integration?

A Syspro Shopify integration links Syspro to a Shopify store so orders placed in Shopify become Syspro sales orders, and stock, pricing, customer accounts and dispatch updates from Syspro reach Shopify. Shopify describes ERP integration for B2B as syncing customer data, orders, inventory, product catalogs and pricing information. With Syspro, transactions go through e.net Solutions business objects and reads can go through Syspro OData.

How much does Syspro cost?

Syspro sells its software under a named-user, subscription-based platform model, and says it is discontinuing its Initial License Fee and Annual License Fee model. For Syspro's own figures, ask Syspro. The integration is a separate cost: Uncap Connect starts at $8,000 to set up and then a flat $390 per month.

What companies use Syspro?

Syspro serves mid-sized manufacturers and distributors. It lists industries including automotive, chemical, electronics, metal fabrication, food and beverage, furniture, industrial machinery, medical, packaging, and plastic and rubber, alongside distribution. Syspro says it is purpose-built to match the realities of manufacturing and distribution.

Does Syspro have an API for Shopify?

Syspro documents two general-purpose interfaces that a Shopify integration can use. e.net Solutions exposes Syspro business objects for transactions through WCF Services, and Syspro's .NET Framework 4.0 client library supports HTTP REST and SOAP endpoints. Syspro OData is a RESTful API, based on OData 4.0, for read-only access to Syspro data. On the Shopify side, custom integrations use Shopify's B2B APIs.

Can an on-premise Syspro install sync with Shopify?

Yes. Syspro says OData is available for both on-premise and cloud solutions, and that the only difference between on-premise and Syspro Cloud ERP sites connecting to OData is the base URL. On-premise, your team hosts Syspro, so the integration needs a secure route to those services that your IT team approves, and Syspro strongly recommends exposing OData over HTTPS. Business objects carry the transactions, such as new sales orders.

What changes on Syspro Cloud ERP?

The main change is data access. The Syspro Cloud ERP platform doesn't allow direct database access by any application or personnel, and Syspro says OData is the only mechanism available when an application needs Syspro data there. Syspro Cloud ERP runs on Microsoft Azure, and its Foundation bundle includes Connected Services Manager (e.Net). Connecting to OData works as it does on-premise, apart from the base URL.

Do we need Shopify Plus for B2B with Syspro?

No. Shopify B2B is available on the Basic, Grow, Advanced, and Shopify Plus plans, though not on Starter or Retail. Below Plus, you can assign up to 3 active catalogs across all your B2B markets. Plus adds unlimited B2B market catalogs, direct catalog assignment to specific companies and company locations for customer-level pricing, and deposits, partial payments and payment requests per fulfillment. If many Syspro accounts carry their own contract prices, check the direct catalog rule early.

How do Syspro contract prices reach Shopify B2B buyers?

Syspro calculates the price, and the integration publishes it to Shopify. Syspro handles multi-level pricing, including contracts, buying groups and promotions, with multiple units of measure, and applies agreed pricing during order processing. The integration publishes those prices to Shopify B2B catalogs and price lists. On Shopify Plus, catalogs can be assigned directly to specific companies and company locations; below Plus, up to 3 active catalogs are shared across your B2B markets.

What does a Syspro Shopify integration cost with Uncap?

Uncap Connect starts at $8,000 to set up and then a flat $390 per month. A managed iPaaS integration starts at $14,000 with a $500 to $2,000 monthly platform cost. We scope the exact figure to your systems up front, and for Syspro the Uncap team confirms fit directly. Many projects start with Uncap Blueprint, a $7,500 fixed-price plan delivered in four weeks and credited toward implementation.
